Spring Valley, New York…July 30, 2018… Tim Flood, Executive Vice President of The Trans Group, one of New York State’s largest school transportation providers, received the prestigious Hall of Fame Award at the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) Annual Meeting & Convention on July 24, 2018, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The award was presented by NSTA President Blake Krapf.
“The Hall of Fame Award recognizes the special contributions made by an NSTA member to the school transportation industry,” noted Krapf. “A long-standing NSTA member, Tim has consistently held an active role within the association and promoted our goal of providing safe and efficient transportation to students throughout North America. He is a tireless leader within the industry who is highly respected by his peers. It is an honor to induct Tim into the NSTA Hall of Fame.”
A former NSTA President from 2013-2015, Flood has served on numerous NSTA committees and has chaired the Association and Industry Development Committee as well as the Safety and Security Committee, each for several years. He has also served on the NSTA Board of Directors and most recently stepped up to fill the vacated position of Past President. He is a recipient of the Golden Merit Award, Distinguished Service Award, and School Bus Fleet’s Contractor of the Year Award. Headquartered in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, the NSTA has represented private school bus contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers for more than 40 years.
Flood, who began his career with The Trans Group more than 30 years ago, has also served on the New York School Bus Contractor’s Association’s Board of Directors, including serving as its past president. He is a past board member of the Pupil Transportation Safety Institute and has served on the New York State School Bus Driver Instructor Advisory Committee. Additionally, Flood has represented New York State as a delegate at the National Congress on School Transportation.
